About VerdaScope
This page explains who we serve, how we research and publish, and the editorial policy that governs every guide on this site.

Our Mission
UK businesses face a growing stack of expectations: net zero commitments, ESG reporting, supply chain due diligence, packaging rules, and scrutiny of green claims.
We exist to close that gap. Our mission is to publish:
- Practical guides that explain what to do, in what order
- Reference pages — glossary, legislation timeline, resources
- Pillar hubs across 12 topic areas
We do not sell certifications, offsets, or consultancy services through editorial content.

Editorial Policy
1. Source hierarchy
We use authoritative sources appropriate to the claim:
- UK legislation: legislation.gov.uk, gov.uk, regulator publications
- Reporting standards: FRC, ISSB/IFRS Foundation
- Certifications: Official standard bodies (B Lab, etc.)
2. Precise wording
We avoid language that implies guaranteed outcomes or automatic legal compliance.
3. No greenwashing in our own content
We apply the same rigour we teach in our guides. We do not present voluntary actions as legal requirements.
4. Corrections and updates
When government guidance changes, we update affected pages and note the change.
Fact-Checking Process
- Brief and outline aligned to keyword research and reader intent
- Drafting with UK context and internal links
- Source verification against primary sources
- Pre-publish review for compliance or technical reviewer
Editorial Independence
Commercial relationships do not determine which topics we cover or how we describe obligations.
