Open the official register for the nation where the collector is registered. Copy the date, the search term and the result as shown, and keep a screenshot, printout or contemporaneous note. This page does not search the registers. A recorded row is not a finding that the collector is licensed or unlicensed.

Open the official register first:

Download the blank log. Put the registration number that appeared on the register onto the transfer record. The four-nation register list already sits on the waste-reduction guide. Compare quotes without treating a missing fee as zero.

A recorded search is not a licence finding

A recorded row needs collector_name, nation_of_register, the official register_url_used, searched_on, search_term, register_result_status, the copied text in register_result_as_shown where a result was shown, and evidence_location naming the saved screenshot, printout or contemporaneous note of that search. Missing any of those keeps waiting.

register_result_status is copied_as_shown, not_found_as_shown, multiple_matches_as_shown or missing. register_result_as_shown is the text copied from that page, or blank when the status is missing. Do not put the status enum and the copied text in the same cell. not_found_as_shown and multiple_matches_as_shown are not findings that the collector is unlicensed. A recorded unsuccessful or ambiguous search still needs a follow-up before appointing a collector. Opening the register or saving a row does not discharge the producer’s duty. row_status is waiting or recorded. There is no licensed, approved, checked_ok or unlicensed value. This page does not query the registers.

Defra’s England workplace recycling guidance tells workplaces to make sure the collector is on the public register. This log records a search. It does not complete that duty.

Four registers, not one UK checker

Use the register that matches where the collector is registered. Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales pages state that a registration with the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales or SEPA is valid in England, Wales and Scotland. Northern Ireland is outside that statement.

Digital waste tracking phase 1, from 1 October 2026, is a receiving-site duty in England and Wales, as explained in GOV.UK’s receiver guidance. It does not replace this producer-side register check. Transfer notes continue alongside.

Save a copy of the blank file and type into the copy. The files are plain CSV with no formulas and no live lookup.

Northgate Studio is fictional. Identifier NG-CARRIER-SIM-001 is invented. No live register search was made. Recorded is the log entry, not a licensed finding and not a completed producer duty.

Search Status and copied text Row
3 March 2026, term NG-CARRIER-SIM-001 copied_as_shown. Simulated register excerpt: no live search. Evidence SN-001 recorded
Same collector, search term blank missing. Copied text blank. No evidence location waiting

What this page does not finish

The written transfer information is the transfer-note checklist. Quote comparison stays on the collection quote sheet. This page does not rank collectors, sell a licence or run digital waste tracking.
