Privacy policy

Updated .

VerdaScope is operated by Attache Digital Group, the controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy explains how we handle information when you read our guides, use our tools or contact us. For privacy enquiries and requests, email hello@verdascope.com.

Reading the website

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes connection information such as your IP address, browser information, requested pages and request times to deliver the website, maintain security and investigate technical problems. Our interest in providing a working, secure website is the basis for this operational processing. See Vercel’s privacy policy for information about its processing.

Search, calculators and downloads

The site’s guide search and calculators run in your browser. Their inputs are not submitted to a VerdaScope application server. Search terms appear in the page URL, so avoid entering personal or confidential information. Downloadable templates are files you save and complete yourself; the website does not upload completed files to us.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any information you choose to include. We use this information to respond, handle corrections and maintain relevant correspondence, based on our legitimate interest in managing enquiries and our publication. Email service providers process messages to deliver and store them. Please send only the information needed for your enquiry.

Advertising and consent

We use Google AdSense when advertising is enabled to help fund the free guidance. Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers to deliver ads, measure performance and prevent fraud. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow it and its partners to personalise ads based on those visits, where permitted.

Where required, a consent message lets you accept, decline or manage advertising purposes and partners before optional advertising storage and personalisation. The message lists the vendors, their purposes and their privacy information. Consent is the basis for optional advertising cookies and personalised advertising where required. Some security, fraud prevention and permitted limited advertising processing may operate under other applicable bases described in Google’s message and policies.

You can revisit your choices using Privacy & cookie settings in the footer when the consent service is available. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it. Read our cookies and advertising information, how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s privacy policy.

You can also manage personalised Google ads through My Ad Center, and some other vendors through YourAdChoices. These controls do not replace the consent settings for this website.

Retention and international processing

We retain correspondence for as long as needed to resolve an enquiry, document a correction or meet a legal obligation. The criteria are whether the matter remains open, whether the record is needed to explain an editorial decision, and whether a legal requirement applies. Hosting and advertising providers apply retention periods to the data they process; their policies and the advertising consent message provide further details.

Our service providers may process information outside the UK. Their privacy notices describe processing locations and the safeguards they use for international transfers. Contact us if you need further information about a provider involved in your use of VerdaScope.

Your rights and complaints

Depending on the processing and applicable law, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information. You may also withdraw consent where we rely on it. Contact hello@verdascope.com to make a request.

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Please explain the processing you object to so we can consider your request.

If you have a concern, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or the relevant authority where you live.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when our use of personal information changes. The date at the top identifies the latest version.
