Copy each claim from the draft report. Mark whether a matching record is held, the content is estimated, the evidence is missing, or the sentence is not a claim. Held means the record is identified, not that the claim is proved. Completing the register is not assurance and not CMA approval.

Download the blank register. Framework choice stays on the reporting hub. Public environmental claims to consumers still follow the Green Claims Code. Consumer-facing claims use a separate register. Record published corrections separately from draft evidence gaps. Emissions claims point to the data pack.

A ticked register is not assurance

evidence_status is held, estimate_only, missing or not_a_claim.

held means an identified record is held. It does not automatically prove the copied claim. Match the evidence to the claim’s period, scope, unit and method.

estimate_only needs estimate_method and limitations. The claim text must be phrased as estimated.

missing stays missing.

not_a_claim needs not_a_claim_reason. It cannot hide a difficult factual assertion.

A distinct overall record holds register_status: incomplete, record_complete_with_unresolved_claims or record_complete. There is no assured or approved value. A register with fully documented gaps can be record-complete and still have unresolved claims.

Completing every row is not ISAE assurance, not SECR filing, and not CMA approval. Sentences inside a sustainability report may themselves be consumer-facing environmental claims. Do not treat report sentences as outside the Green Claims Code merely because they sit in a report. This file does not certify those tests.

reviewed is yes only after an actual check with review_date, review_evidence_location and review_scope. An owner field does not set it.

Claim-to-evidence register

Save a copy of the blank file and type into the copy. The files are plain CSV with no formulas.

Columns: record_type, report_title, report_period_start, report_period_end, claim_id, claim_text, report_section, evidence_status, evidence_location, evidence_period_match, evidence_scope_match, evidence_unit_match, evidence_method_match, estimate_method, limitations, not_a_claim_reason, owner_role, reviewer_role, review_date, review_evidence_location, review_scope, reviewed, register_status and note.

record_type is claim or register. Do not paste GRI or UK SRS disclosure lists as required rows. Copy claims from the draft. Emissions claims point to the data pack. KPI claims point to the KPI sheet. Framework choice stays on the reporting hub.

Worked example: Northgate’s draft report

Northgate Services is fictional. The excerpt is a 2025 draft. reviewed is no on the claim rows. register_status is record_complete_with_unresolved_claims. Completing the rows is not assurance.

Claim Status What is held
December 2025 billed office electricity was 1,000 kWh per supplier bill B-2025-12 held The bill establishes a billed quantity. It does not imply independent meter measurement.
Our supply chain is net zero missing No matching record. The sentence may itself be a consumer-facing environmental claim.
Invoice INV-2025-11 named recycling as a service on that November 2025 invoice held Held for that invoice fact only. The invoice does not demonstrate recycling throughout 2025.
Estimated calendar-2025 office electricity is 12,000 kWh estimate_only December billed 1,000 kWh times 12, with the limitation that one month is treated as representative.

Limits

This is not a report template, not a green-claims marketing checklist, and not a GRI index. Public consumer claims still need the Green Claims Code page, including report sentences that are consumer-facing. Public product or website claims use a separate consumer-facing register. Once a published figure changes, record published corrections separately from draft evidence gaps.
